Lawrence & Larimer - BEAT ALL ODDS
I would like to take a minute and cast some light on my close friends and fellow business owners John Chapman and his wife, Keyonna, owners of Lawrence & Larimer. John and I have worked on numerous projects together over the years; we've done events at our shops, countless screen printing projects, and acted as each other’s sounding boards when new ideas were being dreamt up. The most important project we worked on together was back in 2017 when I closed Berkeley Supply on Colfax and John & Keyonna transformed it into Lawrence & Larimer. We worked with the landlords to ensure a seamless transition so that the space could become the first brick and mortar location for Lawrence & Larimer for 3 years before moving to a bigger space next door.
We’ve joined forces once again to give back and make a difference with our dollars. It all came together yesterday, as a special edition shirt using one of John’s favorite and most important Lawrence & Larimer graphics. Berkeley Supply will be purchasing these Lawrence & Larimer shirts and making them available for free on the website, we also have a dropdown where you may select your donation amount that will go directly to The Bail Project. Shirts will be available online starting right now and available in the shop on Friday. (For online orders, use code FREESHIP and consider adding those shipping dollars to your donation amount)
Finally, I urge everyone to continue to find ways to support black-owned businesses in your community. Not just now, while social media is buzzing, but always. Seek out the people in your community that need your help - be loud with your voice and your dollars on behalf of the black community. Go vote on June 30th and again in November.
Thanks to Jack Ludlam for donating your skills and time to make these photos happen.
