Wythe Bedford Cord Five Pocket Pants - Off White

Expertly woven in Japan and produced right here in America, these are fantastic reproductions of the bedford cord pants made for ranchers and cattlemen in the 1940s and 50s. Bedford cord was used as a workwear fabric because it was heard-wearing but lightweight. Similar to a denim, it stretched and molded to the wearer, making it an ideal fabric for these outdoorsmen as there were no stretch or performance fabrics offered back then.

This particular bedford cord is just what we were looking for. It's woven on vintage selvedge loom by a Japanese mill that specializes in weaving this fabric, exactly like it used to be made. It's one of the only fabrics this mill produces.

We made these in an ideal straight-leg five-pocket pattern; not too slim but not too wide. This fabric will stretch, so don't worry if they feel a bit tight when you first put it on.

They will shrink in a wash but stretch right back out. If you machine dry them you may lose a little length in the inseam, so we recommend air-drying them if possible.
